Tunisia to organise 1st competition of local products November 29-30

The first competition of local products in Tunisia will be organised on November 29 and 30, 2017, at the City of Science in Tunis, announced the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investments (APIA).

It is a competition for mutual agricultural service companies, agricultural producers and also for processing companies. It involves 5 categories of agricultural products: olive and olive oil; fruits and herbs, honey and cheeses, vegetables and fish products.

This event, the concept of which has been duplicated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) for three years in Morocco, aims to promote and develop Tunisian local products on the one hand and facilitate access to the local and foreign market for professionals.

It is part of the many actions related to the promotion of local products, such as the inventory of Tunisian local products developed in 2016 by UNIDO in collaboration with other public institutions and which has culminated in the first list of Tunisian agri-food products.

Candidates must submit their applications by the end of September 2017 and can find out more about the conditions of participation in this competition on the APIA website or at the regional agricultural development committees (CRDA) in the various regions of the country.

The competition will be organized in collaboration with UNIDO and supported by the Market Access and Agricultural Products Marketing Project (PAMPAT) funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation (SECO).
