The Ministry of National Defence announced the conclusion of a contract between the US government and Textron Aviation, authorising the delivery of 8 training aircraft with their accessories and air simulation systems.
The operation will be financed by an American grant, as part of bilateral cooperation. It aims to renovate the fleet of training aircraft belonging to the Tunisian Air Force, the Defence Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
These new aircraft will replace the basic and advanced training aircraft and will be dedicated to training pilots and technicians.
Tunisia should receive the first batch of these aircraft in March 2023, while the rest will be delivered in October 2026.
