Tunisian and Maghreb associations in France pay tribute to Berlin attack victims

Representatives of Tunisian and Maghreb associations in France paid tribute Thursday afternoon to the victims of the Berlin attack of December 19, 2016.

The delegation visited the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Paris to express support for the families of the victims.

“For us this attack was a hard blow and we commend the solidarity and compassion expressed by the Tunisian and Maghreb civil society,” said Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Paris Pascal Hector.

In a statement to TAP, he said that “the right of asylum is not challenged in Germany” after this attack. “But a functioning asylum law requires a readmission policy that works,” he added.

Pascal Hector stressed that “his country wants to improve cooperation in this field so as to be able to guarantee open borders and the reception of people who are in real distress”.
