The Ministry of National Defence announced the launch of the first armoured vehicle designed and made by experts of the Directorate General of Rolling Stock and named «Barb» in reference to the Barb horse, a breed of saddle horse native to the Maghreb.

The vehicle is armoured personnel carrier whose prototype was presented on June 24, 2020, on the 64th anniversary of the creation of the National Army, the Ministry said in a statement Thursday.
