Tunisian League of Women Voters organises coaching session for candidates to Municipal elections

A Personalised coaching session on political communication was organised on Tuesday for the benefit of women candidates to the municipal elections by the Tunisian League of Women Voters (French: LET), as part of its Women Actors for Change project, in partnership with the Danish Centre for Research and Information on Gender (KVINFO).

The project aims to increase the rate of women’s participation in elections and empower them hold decision-making positions and defend the gender approach, according to a LET press release.

The project also seeks to raise the awareness of the local and national public and political opinion leaders about the importance of gender in the planning of local and regional programs and the application of parity, said the source.

The League endeavours to preserve the achievements of Tunisian women, by guaranteeing their fundamental rights to freedom, equality and dignity, in the effective exercise of citizenship and also to improve women’s ability to participate effectively in public affairs, especially politics, as observers and candidates.
