Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education Launches Two Digital Projects for University Services

Tunis, Tunisia - Moncef Boukthir, Tunisia's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced the launch of two significant digital projects, "the Sector Cloud" and "Integrated Information System," as part of the country's digital transition strategy. This announcement was made during a press conference held in Tunis.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, these projects, partly financed by the World Bank, aim to enhance the ministry's capabilities in data storage and processing and digitize all university services. Saoussen Krichène, the General Director of "Le Centre de Calcul El-Khawarizmi (CCK)," stated that 13 Tunisian universities would benefit from the Sector Cloud project.

The Sector Cloud project, operated by the CCK, aims to address the increasing digital service needs of universities, focusing on high-quality digital services, storage capacity, and data processing. This is particularly relevant in the fields of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In addition to the Sector Cloud, the Integrated Information System project will create a single portal consolidating all services for teachers, researchers, students, and administrative staff. The initiative is expected to streamline and simplify access to various educational and administrative services across Tunisian higher education institutions.

The implementation of the Sector Cloud project involves collaboration with Prologic and Huawei and is managed by the CCK. Its goal is to strengthen the digital infrastructure of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research by introducing innovative technological solutions and software.

These projects represent significant steps in Tunisia's broader efforts to modernize its educational sector through digitalization, aiming to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of university services for all stakeholders.
