Tunisian Olive Oil Sweeps Top EIOOC Awards

Geneva: Tunisian olive oil has once again stood out internationally, winning the highest number of gold and silver medals at the International and European Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition (EIOOC), held from April 14 to 16, 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland. According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the event, organized by the Global International Olive Oil Competitions (GIOOC), featured more than 200 brands from a wide range of countries. Participants included Tunisia, Turkey, Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Libya, Croatia, Portugal, Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, the United States, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Jordan. Competing with 70 brands, Tunisia claimed 49 gold medals and 7 silver medals in the quality category, in addition to 12 awards in the 'Healthy' category. This achievement further consolidates Tunisia's position as a global leader in premium olive oil. The tasting sessions at the competition were overseen by an international panel of top-tier experts from several countries. The GIOOC, a Swe dish organization chaired by Tunisian engineer and businessman Raouf Chouket, reaffirmed its commitment to fostering innovation in the sector. Key initiatives include OLEATRADE, an AI-powered smart trading platform, and the Olive Oil Business School, a specialized institution dedicated to professional training in the olive oil industry, which is set to launch soon in Europe.
