(TAP) – The Tunisian Society of Paediatrics, on Saturday, voiced concern over the deteriorating health situation, after the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus.

It urged in a statement closing childcare institutions and children’s clubs.

The association stressed the need to include children in the national COVID-19 vaccination strategy.

Mask wearing is mandatory for children over 6 years old, when going out, the statement said, adding children must wear masks at home in case of suspected infection.

Non-urgent medical consultations must be pushed back and COVID-19 vaccination campaigns must be stepped up for adults and children, the statement indicated.
