The 7th AU-EU Summit, scheduled for November 24-25 in Luanda, Angola, will underscore this milestone under the theme 'Promoting Peace and Prosperity through Effective Multilateralism.' According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has revealed plans to announce new initiatives at the Luanda Summit, aimed at enhancing energy and digital transitions. Diversifying energy sources and reducing reliance on fossil fuels are vital for Tunisia to enhance energy security and cut greenhouse gas emissions. The EU is committed to maximizing the advantages of a green transition that generates employment while minimizing environmental risks. Von der Leyen emphasized that EU-AU cooperation will intensify in clean renewable energy and raw materials, creating value and jobs within Africa for its people. As Africa's main trading partner and closest neighbor, Europe aims to elevate the unique Europe-Africa partnership to a higher level at the Luanda Summit, celebrating the 25th anniversary of EU-AU cooperation. The summit will also serve as a p latform to explore ways to strengthen collaboration in areas such as peace, security, multilateralism, mobility, and migration.
