Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in a phone call on Wednesday, focusing on the outcomes of the recent Alaska summit between the US and Russian presidents, along with trade issues and bilateral relations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the discussion covered the implications of the Alaska summit and the state of Trkiye-Russia bilateral relations, with a particular emphasis on trade ties. The conversation was detailed by Trkiye’s Communications Directorate on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

President Erdogan highlighted his ongoing attention to the peace process, noting that Trkiye has consistently worked towards achieving a fair resolution since the onset of the Ukraine conflict. He underscored Trkiye’s support for approaches that promote enduring peace with the involvement of all relevant parties.

Meanwhile, President Putin acknowledged the Istanbul Process and expressed gratitude to President Erdogan for hosting the peace talks and Trkiye’s contributions. Both leaders concurred on the necessity of maintaining dialogue between their nations.
