Turkish President Condemns Israel’s Attack on Global Sumud Flotilla

Ankara: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday condemned Israel's "piracy and banditry" against the Global Sumud Flotilla "in the strongest terms." Addressing the nation after a Cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdogan stated that Israel's attacks on the aid mission will not deter international solidarity with Palestinians or the pursuit of justice. He called on the global community to take action against what he described as Israel's "lawless actions."

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized that the international community must not remain silent in the face of Israel's actions, which he believes undermine efforts towards peace and justice in the region. He highlighted the importance of standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people and urged nations worldwide to hold Israel accountable for its actions. The Global Sumud Flotilla, which was aimed at delivering aid to Palestinians, faced an aggressive response from Israeli forces, drawing widespread condemnation from various international quarters.

Erdogan's statements underscore Trkiye's longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and its criticism of Israeli policies. The president's call to action reflects a broader sentiment among several nations and organizations advocating for Palestinian rights and condemning the use of force against humanitarian efforts. The incident with the Global Sumud Flotilla has further intensified calls for dialogue and an end to hostilities in the region.
