Twenty-two illegal migrants rescued off Zarzis

Twenty-two illegal migrants were rescued Thursday by the national navy 120 km off the coast of Zarzis after their boat broke down, said the National Defence Ministry.

The immigrants (5 Tunisians, 9 Moroccans, an Egyptian, 3 Sudanese, a Nigerian, 3 Bangladeshis) departed from the port of Boukamech, Libya, bound for Italy.

They were handed over to national guards in the port of Zarzis.
