U.S. Ambassador in Tunis Joey Hood reiterated his country’s readiness to keep on supporting Tunisia, particularly at the level of international and regional financial institutions.
Hood said as he met Wednesday with Finance Minister Sihem Boughdiri Namsia this would help Tunisia address current challenges. There is also keenness to give impetus to cooperation in handicrafts, green economy and renewable energy.
The meeting offered the opportunity to discuss means to step up and diversify financial and technical cooperation, in particular, the Finance Ministry said in a press release.
Sihem Boughdiri Namsia and Hood hailed the long-standing relations binding the two countries and voiced hope to further strengthen them, considering the importance of strategic partnership.
The minister outlined the main financial and economic challenges induced by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
She also shed light on key measures aimed to increase the pace of growth and foster a climate conducive to domestic and foreign investment while preserving financial balances.
