The Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) called on Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi who is also serving as acting Minister of the Interior to shoulder responsibility for the violations committed.
The UGTT condemned in a statement the «barbaric» violence perpetrated by police officers against a young person in Sidi Hassine.
The youth was subjected to acts of violence and was stripped of his clothes on the public highway and in front of pedestrians and local residents.
These violations represent the policy of oppression followed in order to silence social and popular protests and it only worsens the situation, the same source said.
The labour organisation also called for an investigation and bringing to justice the perpetrator of these acts of abuse of force.
