The Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) has not to date taken an official position on the dissolution of the Supreme Judicial Council (CSM) announced by the President of the Republic, said Executive Bureau member Sami Tahri. A meeting will be held soon to discuss this issue, he added.
The President of the Republic announced his intention to dissolve the CSM at a meeting with the Interior Minister and the ministry’s officials that took place on Saturday night .
The executive bureau of the UGTT could not meet to give its opinion on this issue, Tahri pointed out.
The steering committee will meet on February 10, as part of the preparation of the UGTT congress that will be held on February 16, 17 and 18. It will raise the issue of the dissolution of the CSM.
