Denu: A man, aged about 20, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Gaglokope, a suburb of Denu in the Ketu South Municipality. Fabrice Woesah, an unemployed senior high school graduate and father of a three-month-old baby, was found hanging with a yellow nylon rope around his neck tied to the branch of a dead tree.
According to Ghana News Agency, a family source, Ms. Bernice Ahorlete, reported that on the day of the incident, Woesah fetched water and went out, giving the impression of running a simple errand. However, his prolonged absence led to a search, culminating in the discovery of his body.
Mr. Israel Bossman, Assembly member for Denu, confirmed the incident, stating that the police have since deposited the body at the Ketu South Municipal Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. While no visible marks of violence were found to suggest foul play, it was observed that the cervical vertebrae was broken, with the tongue protruding from the mouth.
Mr. Bossman speculated that financial challenges might have driven Woesah to take his life, as his partner is also unemployed and currently in the hospital with their pre-term baby. The family, citing financial constraints, requested the police to halt the investigation. However, the police have proceeded to seek the coroner’s directives for a post-mortem through the Agbozume District Court.
