Union protest to commemorate 70th anniversary of Nakba

A union protest was organised on Sunday outside the Regional Labour Union of Sfax to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Nakba and to protest against U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to move the U.S. embassy to the Occupied Al-Quds.

Several protest movements and rallies were staged by the regional union during this week on this occasion.

The first protest started on Tuesday with the setting-up of a tent downtown Sfax to introduce the Palestinian Cause.

A Cultural evening was held on Saturday at the regional union’s headquarters in the presence of families of some martyrs of the Palestinian Cause including martyrs Baligh Anouar Lajmi, Omar Ktat, Mohamed Zouari, Riadh Ben Jmai and Mohamed Khlifi.

A documentary exhibition on Palestine’s occupation process in 1948 and the Palestinian resistance were also held.

The aim of these events is to support the Palestinian cause and protest against Trump’s decision to move the U.S. embassy, Member of this regional union’s executive board Mohammed Abbas told TAP.
