UPL to hold press conference on municipal elections and date of national council next Tuesday

Yosra Mili, political bureau member of the Free Patriotic Union (UPL) party in charge of communication said decisions were taken Friday at the bureau meeting, regarding municipal elections and the date of the holding of the National Council of the party that was scheduled on February 10 and 11.

These decisions will be announced next Tuesday at a press conference, Mili told TAP on Saturday, explaining that “the postponement of the date of the national council for the second time comes because of the resignation of party president Slim Riahi.

She added that the political bureau meeting also focused on the review of the action of the parliamentary group of the UPL and the upcoming parliamentary dates, including the hearing of the governor of the Central Bank and the discussion of the draft law on the criminalisation of normalisation with the Zionist entity.

Yosra Mili also praised the coherence of the UPL bloc and the action of its members “despite the harassment they suffer after the resignation of Slim Riahi,” adding that Abderraouf Chebbi has returned to the bloc after leaving it.

The National Council meeting of the Free Patriotic Union (UPL), initially scheduled for January 27 and 28, was postponed to February 10 and 11, before being put off again.
