Upper West Union in Bolgatanga Elects New Executives.

Bolgatanga: The Upper East Regional chapter of the re-inaugurated Upper West Union (UWU) in Bolgatanga has elected a 14-member executive board to steer its affairs for the next two years. The executives were chosen by two representatives each from six tribal groups within the Upper West Region based in Bolgatanga. The newly elected board includes Mr. Aatare Adamu Mahmud as Chairman, Mr. Saeed Ibrahim Bampurimbu as Vice Chairman, Mr. Paul Piela as Secretary, and Mr. Fasasi Mudashiru as Vice Secretary. According to Ghana News Agency, the remaining elected officers are Mr. Frederick Mwinsoayele as Organizer, Mr. Emmanuel Bewone as Vice Organizer, Mr. Mohammed Sumaila Mahadugu as Treasurer, Mr. Bright Bayorle as Vice Treasurer, and Mr. Alhassan Zimi as Welfare Officer. Additionally, Madam Comfort Changu serves as Vice Welfare Officer, Madam Alice Gbiel as Women's Organizer, Madam Felicia Tater as Vice Women's Organizer, Mr. Fauster Doomie as Public Relations Officer (PRO), and Professor Callistus Tengan as Vice PRO. Alhaji Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper East Regional Minister, addressed the inaugural ceremony, highlighting the responsibility of both executives and members to empower the UWU as a catalyst for positive change. The Minister emphasized that the union's success would depend on collective commitment. In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Mr. Mahmud, expressed gratitude to the UWU members and patrons for their confidence in the new leadership. He called for collective efforts from all members for the union's success, stating that its strength lies in mutual support and unity. Mr. Mahmud also commented on the Chuchuliga-Chiana-Tumu road, expressing appreciation for the government's commitment to improve road infrastructure. He noted that these efforts would enhance connectivity and provide relief to commuters, fostering economic growth in the Upper West and Upper East Regions.
