US Government Urges American Firms to Invest in Moroccan Sahara

Accra:US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau announced that the US government has decided to encourage American investment in the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom, following Washington's recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara.

According to Ghana News Agency, Landau stated that the United States recognizes Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara. As part of the previous administration's initiatives to promote economic and commercial diplomacy, the US is keen to support American companies interested in investing in this region of Morocco. Landau made these comments during a press briefing after a meeting in New York with Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.

The US official highlighted his discussions with Bourita on the strong and enduring relationships between Morocco and the United States. He emphasized the US administration's commitment to collaborating with Morocco to foster prosperity, peace, and stability in the region.
