US has faith in current Tunisian government and will support it in coming period (John Kerry)

The United States has faith in the current Tunisian government and will support it in the coming period,” said US climate envoy and former Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday in Riyadh.

In a statement to the media following his meeting with Prime Minister Najla Bouden on the fringes of the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit, hosted by Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on October 25-26, Kerry indicated that consultations are underway between the Tunisian and American stakeholders on the modalities of the support that will be offered to Tunisia, notably in the climate field.

He added that “further clarification about this support will be announced at the appropriate time.”

Najla Bouden left on Sunday for Saudi Arabia to participate in the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit, attended by heads of State and government from several countries.

In this first trip abroad since her nomination, Bouden is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi and Minister of the Environment Leila Chikhaoui.

The PM also met on Monday with Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
