UTICA: Round table with heads of accredited African Diplomatic Missions in Tunis

A round table was organised, Wednesday at the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), with the Heads of Accredited African Diplomatic Missions in Tunis, as part of the 3rd Edition of African Friendship and Partnership Days.

In his opening address, Mr. Taieb KTARI, Member of the UTICA National Executive Board said that this round table is part of the return of Tunisian politics and its presence in Africa, through a consolidation and strengthening of its partnerships with the various representatives of the African public and private sector.

“This action is also part of a South-South partnership that favours relations between African countries. Our wish today is that our joint efforts can help to give a new impetus to bilateral economic cooperation and establish a “win-win” partnership between the economic operators of our continent, “he said.

Mr. KTARI said that UTICA plans to organise this year more than a dozen multi-sectoral prospecting actions in addition to participations in fairs and exhibitions on the African continent in order to further strengthen our relations with our brothers and establish a genuine, effective and fruitful partnership.

In his speech, Karim Ben Becher, Africa Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that this African day of friendship has now become an annual event, which is a good opportunity to exchange views and explore ways and means likely to further develop the relations of cooperation and partnership between our respective countries.

He also recalled that Tunisia makes its commitment to the African continent one of the strategic orientations of its economic policy and that the Tunisian government is determined to raise cooperation relations with our African partners to higher levels.

In turn, Victor LOE, deans of African Ambassadors in Tunis, Ambassador of Cameroon, praised the efforts made by Tunisia and its new African strategy, highlighting the great potential of the different countries of the continent and the great opportunities for partnerships available to African operators.
