UTT dennounces government policy towards it

The Tunisian Workers’ Union (UTT) firmly denounced Saturday the government’s policy regarding the union, accusing it of deliberately impeding its union project and violating the Constitution.

In a press release on the occasion of the Labour Day (May 1), the UTT castigated the government that violates international conventions and does not apply the law. The union called upon the government to stop practices of exclusion and double standards and materialise the union pluralism.

“The UTT which celebrates the 6th anniversary of its creation, is a victim of injustice and a deliberate exclusion policy, affirms the press release, warning against the alarming escalation of protest movements due to the decrease of the workers’ purchasing power, the gradual disappearance of the middle class and the unprecedented rise in prices.
