Vaccine Pass Adoption Aims to Encourage Unvaccinated to Get their Jabs – Health Minister

It also seeks to prevent new outbreaks that may resurface, and prepare for the winter, which is conducive to the emergence of new epidemic waves, said Ait Taleb during the oral question session at the House of Representatives (lower house).

Rather than a binding measure, the vaccine pass is an official document that will allow people who are fully vaccinated to gradually resume their normal lives, the minister noted, stressing that prevention logic requires easing restrictions for the vaccinated community.

According to the minister, this vaccine pass will certainly help in the prevention against the risk of transmission by people who have not yet been vaccinated, encouraging them to take part in the vaccination campaign which is, so far, the only way to avoid COVID-19-related complications.

Ait Taleb described this decision as wise in order to avoid any deterioration of the health situation, arguing that all indicators show that the next wave will be more violent than the previous ones.

In addition, the minister reiterated his call for more caution and vigilance, urging citizens to interact with great responsibility with government decision that aims to preserve lives and public health, in order for them to contribute into the country’s effort against the risks of this pandemic.

Ait Taleb recalled, in this regard, that the ministry allowed citizens who have received the first vaccine dose to obtain a provisional vaccine pass.

As for people with contraindication against COVID-19 vaccine, they can also obtain their vaccine pass provided that they present a certificate issued by a specialized doctor.
