According to Ghana News Agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, the Vice Chancellor made it clear that the Academic Council is prepared to take decisive action against anyone proven to have engaged in electoral violence. He stressed the importance of upholding the values instilled during their time at the University. This warning comes as a total of 1,632 students graduated from various courses and sciences at the event, where Prof Honyenuga also highlighted the progress made across different sectors of the University.

The Vice Chancellor shared updates on new programs and collaborations in both academic and industrial fields. He reported improvements in facilities, including the retooling of laboratories and workshops. Prof Honyenuga also highlighted the recent launch of the UNIDO Circular Economy Centre project at HTU, which stands as a testament to the University’s commitment to quality Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and its contribution to sustainable technology.

g the Circular Economy Centre, HTU has formed lasting partnerships with the Ghana Navy and Nuclear Power Ghana. The University has also achieved recognition in inter-institutional competitions, including agritech and Huawei ICT battles. Despite these successes, Prof Honyenuga pointed out several challenges facing the University, such as stalled GETFund projects, the lack of a teaching hotel, and the high cost of teaching materials.

The Vice Chancellor also addressed the financial strains of utility bills and faculty allowances. He called on the University community and alumni to support efforts to enhance campus security through the construction of a solid fence, which would help mitigate security issues.
