Vivo Energy Ghana Unveils She’llFix Initiative to Train Women in Auto Mechanics


Accra: Vivo Energy Ghana Plc, the exclusive distributor and marketer of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, has announced the launch of the She’llFix campaign aimed at empowering women through comprehensive training in auto mechanics, lubrication, and car safety. The initiative seeks to enable women to drive with independence and safety by providing hands-on training that ranges from checking oil levels to jump-starting car batteries.



According to Ghana News Agency, the She’llFix campaign operates under the tagline ‘Safely, Confidently with Skill’ and is part of Vivo Energy Ghana’s corporate social responsibility efforts. It serves as an extension of the company’s flagship ShePower diversity and inclusion program, which focuses on empowering women across various aspects of life. Mr. Christian Li, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, emphasized the company’s commitment to safety and community support, highlighting how the initiative aligns with their core values.



Madam Esther Ambah Numaba Cobbah, President of the Institute of Public Relations in Ghana, encouraged women to build self-confidence in handling basic vehicle maintenance to reduce dependency on men. She praised Vivo Energy Ghana for equipping women with practical skills, noting the importance of recognizing women’s equality and their ability to contribute significantly to society. She expressed excitement about the She’llFix initiative, which aims to showcase women’s capabilities in technical fields.



Madam Shirley Tony Kum, Corporate Communications Manager of Vivo Energy Ghana, explained in an interview that the program intends to educate women on basic car maintenance to help them manage vehicle issues independently before seeking external assistance. This empowerment is expected to alleviate panic and uncertainty when faced with car troubles.
