Wawase Community Enhances Healthcare with New Nurses’ Quarters

Accra: Mr Patrick Fiable, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira (THLD), has commissioned a three-bedroom nurses' quarters in the community to support healthcare delivery. The facility is part of the government's initiative to enhance healthcare services in Wawase by reducing the challenges nurses face when traveling to and from the town.

According to Ghana News Agency, the project was initiated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and completed by the current administration. It was jointly commissioned by Mr Fiable and Nana Kweku Adae III, the former DCE of THLD. Mr Fiable emphasized the importance of regular maintenance to ensure the longevity of the facility.

Mrs Elizabeth Gaisie, the Physician Assistant at the Wawase Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound, expressed gratitude to the government and the District Assembly for the project. She noted that the new quarters would encourage nurses to accept postings in the community. Mrs Gaisie also appealed for the addition of a laboratory to facilitate early disease diagnosis, contributing to improved health outcomes for the residents.
