Weightlifting – African Championship (1st day): 6 gold medals, 3 silver for Tunisia

The Tunisian weightlifting team won six gold and three silver medals at the end of the first day of the African championship, held from 10 to 18 July in Mauritius.

The gold medals were won by Nouha Landoulsi (53 kg) after lifting 88 kg in snatch and 106 kg in clean and jerk and 194 in total and Amine Bouhajba (56 kg) with 110 kg in snatch, 134 kg in clean and jerk and 244 in total.

The silver medals went to Faouzi Kraidi (62kg) after lifting 121kg in the snatch, 146kg in clean and jerk and 276 in total.

Tunisian athlete Nouha Landoulsi won the silver medal in the clean and jerk event by raising 105 kg at the junior world championships held last June in Tokyo.
