Female candidates represented 35% in the recent elections, said Papatheu on social networks, noting that this rate lead Morocco to outstrip southern Mediterranean countries.
This strong presence proves women’s growing participation in the Moroccan political life, she further stressed.
Morocco held, on September 8, three elections in one day, for the first time in the history of its democratic institutions, with a voter turnout of 50.18%.
