Tunisian Nihel Cheikhrouhou (+78 kg) finished 7th in the World Judo Championship held in Budapest, after conceding defeat to Brazilian Maria Altheman at the first Repechage Saturday.
Cheikhrouhou won in the qualifiers against Korean Hayon Kim and Cameroonian Hortense Mbala Atangana before being defeated by Brazilian Beatriz Souza.
The other Tunisian judokates competing in the world competition, namely Nouha Landolsi (-70 kg), Ghofrane Khelifi (-57 kg) and Oumaima Bdioui (-48 kg) failed in their turn to climb on the podium after being eliminated in the second round of the playoffs in their respective category.
