Youssef Chahed decides to set up national intelligence centre

Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, on Tuesday, decided the establishment of a national intelligence centre whose mission will be to collect and analyse information and co-ordinate actions between the various intelligence services.

Chairing an inner Cabinet meeting at the Government Palace in Kasbah, Chahed stressed that this project was developed by the Presidency of the Republic and submitted to the Prime Ministry.

According to a statement, the national intelligence centre will undertake to define the international intelligence co-operation and put in place the national intelligence plan.

“The Centre will be created by a government decree at the next Cabinet meeting, the statement added.

The meeting was attended by Ministers of the Interior, Defense and Justice, as well as the Chief of Staff of the President and security officials.
