During the last 24 hours, the governorate of Zaghouan has recorded five more fatalities due to the Coronavirus, including three reported on Tuesday, which brings to 193 the number of deaths in the region since the spread of the epidemic, Regional Health Director Souhail Bali told TAP.
Moreover, 81 additional cases of infection have been reported following the publication of the results of 181 laboratory tests. Thus, the tally of infected people in the region has reached 5,707 cases since the outbreak of the virus, many of whom have recovered while 421 patients are still carriers of the virus, he said.
According to the same source, the COVID units in the hospitals of the Zaghouan governorate have largely exceeded their capacity and are no longer able to accommodate new patients, stating that the epidemiological indicators in most delegations of the governorate are in the red.
