A 69-year-old woman died on Thursday from the coronavirus in El Fahs (Zaghouan Governorate), bringing to 173 the total number of deaths linked to the pandemic in the region, Regional Health Director, Souhail Bali said.
The region has also recorded 84 more cases of infection by COVID-19, bringing the total number of infected people to 5,013, including 375 who are still carrying the virus, according to the same source.
For his part, Governor of Zaghouan, Salah Mtiraoui, said in a statement to TAP, on the sidelines of the meeting of the regional committee for the fight against Covid-19, that “the epidemiological situation in the region is serious, given the significant increase in the number of positive cases, active cases and hospitalisations in COVID-19 services.
