Zaghouan: Fire in Jebel El Ouest cement factory under control

The Zaghouan civil defence units managed to control a fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon in the Jebel El Ouest cement plant, which employs 800 people.

The fire, broke out on the ground floor of the plant, devastated cables and electrical equipment installed on an area of nearly 120 m2 in the control rooms, said Civil Defence Regional Director Salem Yousfi, adding that no human losses have been recorded.

The same source believed that the main cause of the fire would probably be a short circuit at an electrical machine caused by rising temperatures.
