Zbidi calls on military to be extremely vigilant as he visits military Task Forces in Bizerte and Menzel Jemil

At an inspection visit to the Bizerte Special Forces and to Menzel Jemil’s 61st Engineer Force, Defence Minister Abdelkarim Zbidi called on the military to exercise utmost vigilance against the backdrop of social protests which, he warned, may be exploited by terrorists.

During this visit, Zbidi emphasised the importance and the particularity of the missions entrusted to these two forces that are at the forefront of the anti-terrorist forces, he said.

“These two forces are the most exposed to the dangers and risks of death during operations,” he said as he commended efforts to increase their fighting and operational capabilities.

Abdelkarim Zbidi also pointed out that the department will provide the two forces with all the human, material and logistical resources necessary to carry out their missions.

In the same context, the Minister announced the start, from the second half of 2018, of construction work of housing units for the benefit of the military in Ain Meriem (Bizerte).
