Beja Women Launch ‘Emptying the Cupboards’ Initiative to Support Gaza

Beja, Tunisia – In a remarkable act of solidarity, a group of women from the governorate of Beja has initiated a unique campaign called 'Emptying the Cupboards.' This initiative involves selling personal items to raise funds for Palestinians in Gaza.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, Imen Jabri, who spoke to the Tunisian Press Agency (TAP), the initiative began as a collective idea among a group of women. They aimed to make cash donations to the people of Gaza by selling various personal items, including handicrafts, leather goods, cosmetics, clothing, accessories, candles, jewelry, and other miscellaneous products, at nominal prices.

Jabri commended the humanitarian spirit and volunteerism demonstrated by other local associations, which have joined the initiative to support the Palestinian people. The proceeds from these sales are being donated to the Tunisian Red Crescent to provide financial assistance to those in Gaza.
