Chief of Agyiemadiem Initiates Reshaping of Essakrom-Agyiemadiem Road

AGYIEMADIEM, Ghana — Nana Kofi Donkor II, the Chief of Agyiemadiem in Juaboso District of the Western North Region, has taken an extraordinary step to improve the condition of the Essakrom to Agyiemadiem road. He has begun reshaping the road, which had been in a deplorable state, to make it more accessible for local residents.

According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Donkor II explained that the poor condition of the road had severely affected transportation in the area, especially for farmers in communities like Dome, Afofiekrom, and Sayereso. He mentioned that the road’s state had led to a decrease in vehicle traffic, adversely impacting the transportation of farm produce and access to essential services.

The Chief highlighted a recent tragic incident where a pregnant woman lost her life due to the lack of available transportation to a hospital. In response to this and other challenges faced by his community, Nana Donkor II mobilized resources to temporarily reshape the road.

However, Nana Donkor II has called on the government and the Juaboso District Assembly to take permanent measures to repair the road. He has communicated with the District Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament for the area, expressing hope for their collaboration.

Drivers and commuters in the area have praised the Chief’s initiative but also urge the government to ensure that contractors return to the site to complete the road project. The reshaping work from Dome, Sayereso, and Agyiemadiem has been completed, with work between Essakrom and Afofiekrom still ongoing at the time of GNA’s report.
