(TAP) - The fares of the Tunisian Navigation Company (CTN) are competitive and 10 to 15% lower than the fares charged by foreign operators on the same maritime routes (Genoa and Marseille), said the Ministry of Transport on Tuesday. The Ministry emphasised that the CTN fares for a family of 4 (round trip) during the peak summer season on the Marseille route range between pound 1800 and 2400. "The CTN fares are dynamic and follow the rule of supply and demand... These fares are generally at their lowest at the opening of reservations, which occurs 6 months before the start of the tourist season, and gradually become more expensive based on the capacity of the vessels." The Ministry affirmed that the price difference between the opening of reservations and the travel date does not exceed 35% in extreme cases. It noted that adopting competitive fares compared to other foreign operators on the same routes is part of the company's commercial policy, which takes into account the financial balance of the company, competition requirements, and social aspects.
