Dar Ben Achour to host Water Matter exhibition project

An exhibition project titled Water Matter will be running from August 31 to September 2 under the INTERFERENCE SUMMER PROJECT in Dar Ben Achour, Medina of Tunis, with the participation of a group of Tunisian and international artists. Nearly fifteen artists will showcase new experimentations reflecting on the use of light and water as artistic mediums and materials. "This exhibition is a space to exchange and debate on water related matters and issues, as well as the role of contemporary art not only in the current world, but also within the local frame of the country," reads a press release. "From drawing, digital painting, to video and installation, a variety of mediums and disciplines will translate ideas and notions on water, morphing the historical site of Dar Ben Achour into an exchange space between the artist and the audience, the memory and the imaginary, all coming to diverse representations, ephemeral visual forms, tangible enough to spark conversation, abstract enough not to dictate the discourse." The INTERFERENCE SUMMER PROJECT aims to raise awareness of the ongoing water crisis and its ecological, technological, and sociocultural challenges through contemporary art.
