Ghana Medical Association Calls for Peaceful Elections.


According to Ghana News Agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, Dr Serebour emphasized the importance of a free, fair, and transparent election to maintain the confidence of Ghanaians and uphold national integrity. He urged the Electoral Commission to uphold standards of impartiality, transparency, and accountability. Furthermore, he called on all political parties and groups to ensure that their members and supporters conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the elections.

Dr Serebour also highlighted the responsibility of citizens to vote peacefully, respect others’ rights, and avoid any form of violence. The conference was themed “Fostering Technology, Entrepreneurship and Professionalism in Ghana’s Health Sector,” where Dr Serebour advocated for adopting health-related technologies like telemedicine and artificial intelligence to improve healthcare delivery.

He called for investments in infrastructure and responsible use of technology, emphasizing the need for anticipation and mitigation of
potential risks. The GMA encouraged collaboration between the government and telecommunication companies to enhance internet access and develop a regulatory framework.

Professionalism in the health sector was another key focus, with Dr Serebour urging health facilities to utilize established structures for maintaining standards. Entrepreneurship was also a significant theme, with calls for public-private partnerships in healthcare and support for medical professionals through tax waivers and credit facilities. Dr Serebour urged banks and financial institutions to support these initiatives and called for entrepreneurship training in health curricula.
