The Ad Hoc Joint Committee on Flood Disaster Relief and Recovery will this week conduct oversight visits to some areas impacted by floods that occurred in 2022 and this year in the North West and Free State provinces.
The objective of the oversight visit is to afford the committee an opportunity to have a clear understanding of the extent to which the government has been able to aid the North West province in its flood disaster relief and recovery from the 2022 floods and to establish the amount of damage caused by the 2023 floods in the Free State.
