Ada: The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organised a dialogue for parliamentary candidates in the Ada constituency, providing them a platform to interact with the electorate. This initiative aimed to inform citizens about the candidates’ intentions and visions for the constituency.
According to Ghana News Agency, Ms. Faustina Blewusi, the Ada East District Director for the NCCE, stated that the Commission had conducted a nationwide survey to understand the concerns of citizens regarding their expectations from candidates. Ms. Blewusi, also known as Mama Megbenya I, highlighted key issues identified by citizens, including education, health, employment, the economy, agriculture, and road infrastructure.
The NCCE launched the dialogue to address these concerns, allowing candidates to present their policies. The event, titled ‘Matters of Concern to the Ghanaian Voter,’ featured candidates from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ada Constituency. De
spite the success of the programme, Ms. Blewusi noted the absence of Madam Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah, the incumbent MP and NDC candidate, despite prior consultations on the date.
Ms. Dornukie Naa Norteye, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, discussed her plans to address the concerns raised by the NCCE with the community. She emphasized her commitment to improving education, road infrastructure, water, and sanitation, having already initiated efforts in these areas.
Ms. Norteye encouraged her supporters to maintain a peaceful campaign, emphasizing the importance of a conflict-free environment throughout the election period. She urged her followers to respond to any campaign insults with maturity, focusing on maintaining peaceful coexistence in Ada.
Community members expressed satisfaction with Ms. Norteye’s engagement, optimistic about her potential victory in the elections. They noted her history of clean campaigning compared to other candidates.
