Tunisian para-athlete Yassine Guennichi won gold in the shot put event in the F36 category at the para-athletics world championships being held in Paris, France.

Guennichi, silver medallist at the last Paralympic Games in Tokyo, beat the world record with a throw of 16.86m, giving Tunisia its 4th gold medal in the competition.

Earlier in the day, Roua Jbebli had excelled in the 1500m (T13), while Raoua Tlili proved her worth in the shot put (F41) and Ahmed Ben Mosleh in the same discipline in the F37.
