Power and Energy Ghana Expo Gathers Global Experts in Accra to Tackle Sector Challenges.

Accra: Global and regional experts in the energy and electrical sector will convene in Accra from Wednesday, November 6, to Friday, November 8, to address challenges in the sector. The event, part of the 3rd edition of the Power and Energy Ghana Expo, will be held at the Accra International Conference. Its focus will be on scaling up renewable energy and addressing demand and supply issues. According to Ghana News Agency, more than 100 exhibitors from countries including Ghana, India, China, Turkey, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, France, Spain, and the UK, along with over 4000 visitors from West Africa, are expected to participate. The participants will include manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, dealers, and distributors of power electrical energy equipment, gadgets, and products. Mr. Thomas James, Project Director of the Power and Energy Ghana Expo, expressed to the media that the event's discussions and engagements aim to help Ghana build a robust energy sector and promote investments in the industry. He urged sector players to utilize the platform for exploring local and international partnership opportunities to develop a resilient and cost-efficient energy sector. Mr. James highlighted that the Expo would provide Ghanaian and West African companies the chance to connect with manufacturers and suppliers participating in the event. "We will arrange one-to-one prefixed meetings for potential collaboration, partnership distribution arrangements, joint ventures, and investment tie-ups," he stated. Maame Afia Saa-Bour Boakye, Administrative Secretary of the Energy Chamber of Ghana, noted the need for increased public education on renewable energy and urged the organizers to champion this cause during the Expo. Additionally, Dr. Joseph Obeng, President of the Ghana Union of Traders Association, called on the Energy Commission to participate in the event and educate the public on its energy efficiency programs and regulations to enhance energy efficiency.
