Monastir: The State, driven by determination to embark on a new stage of development, is fully capable of rooting out forces of destruction that have infiltrated its administrations in an attempt to sabotage the country, President Kas Saed stated on Monday. He emphasized the need for laws that align with the expectations of Tunisians, aiming for a stable welfare state free from the injustices that have affected the people for decades.
According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the President addressed a ceremony in Monastir commemorating the 26th anniversary of the late leader Habib Bourguiba's death. He highlighted the necessity for an overhaul in several sectors, noting that progress in some services has not yet met expectations. However, he expressed confidence in Tunisia's ability to meet the people's demands by leveraging its human resources.
The President underscored that Tunisia possesses the means to transform the nation from north to south, emphasizing self-reliance in shaping its destiny. He criticized the delay of projects across the country under the guise of administrative procedures, despite the availability of funds, labeling such delays as "deliberate." Saed accused those within the administration of attempting to destabilize the state.
He further stated that individuals unable to fulfill their duties should step aside for more competent individuals, highlighting the potential of Tunisia's patriotic youth to contribute actively. He also revealed plans to uncover information about stolen assets, asserting the state's commitment to recovering these assets and pursuing the "battle of national liberation" to fulfill the people's aspirations despite opposition from certain lobbies.
The President criticized these lobbies for losing credibility among Tunisians, who have become adept at recognizing their strategies. He urged the public service television broadcaster to reconsider its approach, advocating for content that serves the country and its citizens, and plays a vital role in raising awareness among youth about narcotics.
Addressing the impacts of the Gulf and Middle East conflicts, particularly concerning energy, President Saed assured that measures have been taken to address any eventuality. He remarked on the global shift towards a new era where post-World War II legitimacy is waning, advocating for new legitimacy rooted in justice, and connecting this to the Palestinian cause, which he claimed some parties attempt to silence.
