Prime Minister Sara Zaafrani Zenzri Calls for Swift Execution of Key Public Projects

Tunis: Prime Minister Sara Zaafrani Zenzri has called upon all relevant ministries to intensify their efforts and strengthen daily field monitoring to accelerate the implementation of public projects in the economic and social sectors. This announcement came during a cabinet meeting chaired by Zenzri at the Kasbah on Monday, where she emphasized the necessity of ensuring high-quality completion of projects within optimal deadlines and holding accountable any parties causing delays or failing to surmount obstacles. According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse - English, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of ongoing oversight by the Prime Ministry's offices over these critical economic and social projects, which are essential for boosting the country's economic growth. She highlighted the need for enhanced coordination among all stakeholders to tackle challenges obstructing project execution. The Prime Minister's directives align with the President of the Republic's guidance to streamline procedures, s horten timelines, and meet deadlines, fulfilling the legitimate aspirations of the Tunisian people. The projects in question span several vital sectors, including health, education, cultural and religious affairs, environment, transport, energy and mines, public works and housing, agriculture and water resources, and regional and local development. In the health sector, initiatives include the construction and equipping of hospitals across multiple governorates, as well as the rehabilitation and modernization of medical departments and hospital IT systems. Education and vocational training projects focus on upgrading infrastructure in primary schools and developing vocational training programs. Cultural affairs efforts involve the restoration of the historic Zitoune Mosque in Tunis, while religious affairs include maintenance of the King Abdulaziz Al Saud Mosque. Environmental projects include the Small Municipalities Cleanup Programme and the Integrated Decontamination Programme for the Bizerte Lake area, among others. In transport, a high-speed rail network project is underway. Energy and mines initiatives feature the Mdhilla 2 project and developments in natural gas transmission networks. Public works involve the Bizerte Bridge and Tunis-Jelma motorway, while agriculture projects focus on deep well development and dam construction. Finally, regional and local development efforts include a financing line project for the Fund for the Promotion and Assistance of Local Communities, underscoring the comprehensive scope and urgency of these public projects.
