The process of unloading two ships with 27,500 tonnes of soft wheat and 27,500 tonnes of hard wheat, which arrived at the commercial port of Sfax from Russia on September 26 and October 1, respectively, is continuing, according to the regional director of the grain office in Sfax, Radhouane Kammar. The same source added that another ship carrying 27,500 tonnes of common wheat from Russia is expected to arrive at the commercial port of Sfax soon. The regional director of the grain office in Sfax told TAP in an earlier statement that “a small part of the cargo of soft and hard wheat is being stored and the bulk is being sent to the mills of the governorates of Sfax, Sousse, Gafsa, Kasserine and Gabes. A small part of the feed barley is stored and most of it is distributed to farmers in neighbouring governorates and sometimes to feed mills throughout the country, he added.
