Trade Minister, Egypt ambassador discuss preparations for upcoming joint trade committee

Minister of Trade and Export Development Kalthoum Ben Rejeb received Egyptian Ambassador to Tunisia Ehab Fahmy on Wednesday to discuss preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Tunisian-Egyptian Joint Trade and Industry Committee. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Tunis in November 2023, according to a press release issued by the ministry. The two sides discussed preparations for "this important event and underlined their joint commitment to increase trade exchanges to a level befitting the exceptional bilateral relations". They reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to strengthening economic ties and removing any obstacles that could impede the flow of goods in both directions. They also agreed to organise a joint business forum on the sidelines of the committee's work, bringing together business leaders and investors from Tunisia and Egypt in various sectors. 'This would contribute to a better understanding of the different characteristics of the business environment in both countries,' according to the same source.
