Two fires break out in Maaoula Forest in Tabarka, Jendouba

Two fires were reported on Tuesday afternoon in the Maaloula Forest in Tabarka, of Jendouba Governorate, while efforts persist to contain them. Forest fire tankers from the Civil Protection and bulldozers have been dispatched to the scene to control the fires, according to head of the committee for natural disaster response Samir Kouka, in an exclusive statement to TAP. He highlighted the difficulties in accessing both fire zones due to challenging topography. Eyewitnesses among the residents of Maaloula have reported that the fires are spreading, expressing their concerns about potential hazards in case aerial bombers fail to intervene due to the rugged terrain and the dense forest adjacent to the Algerian border.
