Agyinasare Calls for Digital Bible Investment to Engage Youth

Accra: Archbishop Dr. Charles Agyinasare, President of the Bible Society of Ghana (BSG), has urged the Ghanaian Church to prioritise digital engagement as a tool for spreading the Gospel. He emphasized the importance of making the Word of God available on digital platforms to effectively reach the youth, who are predominantly online.

According to Ghana News Agency, Archbishop Agyinasare made this call during the BSG's 60th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service in Accra. He stressed the need to invest in Bible apps, audio formats, and video content, describing it as both a mandate and responsibility. Reflecting on the organization's journey, he highlighted the 60-year milestone as a testimony to God's covenant-keeping nature, citing numerous instances where divine intervention provided resources, victory, and guidance.

Since its inception in 1965, BSG has been instrumental in translating and distributing thousands of Bibles in local dialects, impacting lives across various settings. Archbishop Agyinasare praised past contributors and called for an accelerated effort in Bible translation, especially for oral and unreached communities. He also emphasized the importance of local ownership of the BSG by Ghanaian churches and intentional discipleship.

He further highlighted the unity among different church denominations in promoting the Word of God over the past 16 years, calling for this collaborative spirit to continue and expand. Archbishop Agyinasare stated the necessity of Scripture being practiced, not just printed, for it to truly change lives.

Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Presidential Envoy for the Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations Office, delivered a message on behalf of former President John Dramani Mahama, congratulating the BSG on its achievements and pledging GH?50,000 in support. He commended the Society's role in promoting national values and urged the Church to address challenges such as strange doctrines that threaten public confidence.

Fraternal messages from the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference, and the Scripture Union Ghana recognized BSG's relentless efforts in making the Bible accessible and affordable to Ghanaians.
